Homework Policy
Dear Parents,
Homework is a very important part of the learning process. It allows for your child to practice new concepts and to become more proficient and confident in using these skills. It also allows you to monitor what your child learns each day.
Homework in our classroom will change from day to day. Sometimes we may have homework in a few subject areas, and sometimes we may not have any homework at all.
This year, your child must keep track of homework given by Mrs. Tuchek and Mrs. Zarlenga-Buist. In order to keep an organized record of our homework each day, your child will have an assignment book or “planner”. Each day, we will record all assignments in this “planner” as a group. Important test dates and special project dates will also be logged in our “planner”.
Please encourage your child to share their “planner” with you each evening. Your child must bring their “planner” home each night and back to school each morning. Homework is a part of their final grade in each subject area.
Our policy is as follows: If your child does not have their homework when they arrive on the morning of its due date, he or she may bring the assignment in on the next school day. Points will then be deducted from your child’s score at our discretion. If the assignment is more than one day late, he or she will receive “0” points.
Let’s work together to make homework a helpful tool towards learning!
Thank you for your support.
